Cast Revealed For Arindam Sil’s Fourth Byomkesh Film Byomkesh-Hatyamancha
SVF joined hand with Camellia Productions and director Arindam Sil to bring a new Byomkesh Bakshi film “Byomkesh-Hatyamancha”. The cast of this much-awaited film was revealed recently.
Abir Chatterjee will be seen as Byomkesh Bakshi again, while Sohini Sarkar will be seen as Satyabati.
The film’s story is inspired by an incomplete Byomkesh story ‘Bishupal Bodh’, which has been further written by director Arindam Sil and writer Padmanabha Dasgupta for the film. This is the fourth Byomkesh Bakshi film directed by Arindam Sil.
Suhotra Mukhopadhyay will be seen portraying the character of Ajit.
The other members of the cast include:
Kinjal Nanda – Will portray Bishu Pal who is the director of the play and enacts the role of Bhim for his theatre group.
Arna Mukhopadhyay – Stepping in the shoes of Braja Dulal, Arna is also a part of the same theatre group as Bishu Pal. He will be seen as Kichok, who is also a director-actor.
Paoli Dam – Sulochona is the partner of Bishu Pal and plays the character of Draupadi in their theatrical troupe.
Anusha Vishwanathan – Cabaret dancer named Somaria.
Loknath Dey – Kalicharan / Kalikingkar who plays a theatre prompter of the play.
Padmanabha Dasgupta – As Pratul Babu, who is a person of interest to Byomkesh.
Ashim Ray Chowdhury – Plays Madhab Mitra, the police officer
The music for the film will be composed by Bickram Ghosh.
The film is set in the tumultuous Naxalite uprising in Bengal in 1971. Byomkesh Bakshi gets involved in a story of vengeance when he decides to attend a play at the theatre. He becomes a witness to a crime unfolding on the center stage. As Byomkesh Bakshi digs deep into the case, it opens him to a tripartite story of love, betrayal, and infidelity.
The film is slated to release on 11th August 2022.
