Internationally acclaimed Jute revivalist & Social Entrepreneur Chaitali Das has come up with a documentary film “Jute Story Beyond Bars”. This time she is being appreciated for her new role as the director of this documentary film.

The film narrated the indomitable spirit of a woman who was on a mission to revive eco-friendly jute through the reformation of prison inmates and their social inclusion. It narrates the story of hope, despair, challenges, smiles, confidence, as her efforts cross successive milestones, building social acceptance for the prison inmates, artisans and catapulting jute to the world stage.

Shri Peeyush Pandey, I.P.S. ADG&IG, Directorate of Correctional  Home, Government of West Bengal was the Chief Guest at the occasion. He appreciated the film and shared a reformation plan.

Also present at the event was Shri Neel Kamal Kankani, Chairman, Jute Product Development Export Promotion Council, Shri  Sujay Kumar Chanda, Joint Commissioner of Police, Kolkata, Sri R K Johuree, IPS Former Additional Commissioner of Police,  and Mr. Jaydip Das – respected CEO RakshakSubidha (P) Ltd.
