Chhaad-The Terrace, directed by debutante Indrani, had a successful India Premiere at Nandan II in Kolkata as a part of the Competition Section of the 28th Kolkata International Film Festival. Chhaad-The Terrace is a National Film Development Corporation production. Prior to this, the movie had market screenings in Cannes and a premiere at the International Film Festival of South Asia in Toronto.

The director, Indrani, together with the cast and crew of the movie, graced the occasion. The major cast included Paoli Dam, Ronojoy Bishnu, and Rayati Bhattacharya. The crew consisted of the director’s assistant Swatilina Samanta, the editor Amitava Dasgupta, the line producer Arunava Middya, the cinematographer Subhadeep Dey, the assistant director Pushpita Patra, and the assistant line producer Sreejan Mukherjee.

After introducing the cast and crew, director Indrani said, “It is surely a very emotional occasion for me as I stand to present the picture at the Kolkata International Film Festival. It is a dream come true for the vast majority of the cast and crew. Having a crew like this is good for me since movies require collaboration. The entire cast and crew worked incredibly hard to realize my vision. I owe my coworkers a debt of gratitude for their constant inspiration and assistance. I would also want to thank the jury members and the KIFF for their proposal to screen CHHAAD”.

Actor Paoli Dam said, “The Terrace had always been a very significant place for me as I grew up in a North Calcutta house similar to the main character Mitra in the movie. So, when Indrani arrived with the script, I gave my approval right away. We shot while the pandemic was going on, yet the earnestness and commitment of the entire team were admirable, making the event unique. I sincerely hope you like the movie as much as we did while filming it”.

A full house attended the showing, and the audience’s response at the end was overwhelmingly positive.
