“Chhalaang Will Take You Back To Your Childhood Days”- Rajkummar Rao
The trailer of the upcoming Bollywood film Chhalaang was unveiled in a digital press conference in the presence of the cast and crew of the film. Directed by Hansal Mehta, the film is a Luv Films production and is presented by Gulshan Kumar and Bhushan Kumar.
Chhalaang is an inspirational journey of a PT master from a semi government-funded school in Northern India. Montu (Rajkummar Rao) is a typical PT master. When circumstances put everything that Montu cares for at stake, including Neelu (Nushrratt Bharuccha) who he loves, Montu is forced to do what he has never done- teach.
Produced by Ajay Devgn, Luv Ranjan, Ankur Garg the film stars Rajkummar Rao, Nushrratt Bharuccha, Saurabh Shukla, Satish Kaushik, Zeeshan Ayyub, Ila Arun, and Jatin Sarna in pivotal roles.
“Chhalaang is an important film which has elements of comedy, friendship, rivalry, emotional drama. Hence it is a perfect film to watch with your family. The film is a light-hearted film with a wonderful message for the audience” said the director.
Rajkummar Rao threw light on his working relationship with Hansal Mehta. “He is like family to me. After having worked with him in a couple of films, Hansal sir has become my family” said the actor.
The actor also highlighted the fact while portraying the character of Montu in the film, he was reminded of his school days and of the teachers that he had encountered during those times. He said “We used to look forward to the PT period as we could go out and have fun. Many of us did not like going out. But most of us looked forward to this period. While doing the film, these childhood memories came back”.
Nushrratt plays Neelu in the film. The actress was excited when she was offered this film. She had always admired the works of Hansal Mehta and to be a part of his film was a huge opportunity for her. She was also glad to share a screen with Rajkummar after quite some time.
Ajay Devgn said, “When we were young, we used to play so many outdoor games. But kids in today’s times including my son, they are stuck to the computer. I often urge my son to go out and engage in outdoor activities”.
The global premiere of Chhalaang will be organized on November 13, exclusively on Amazon Prime Video.
