For the past 68 years, Children’s Book Trust, a pioneering Indian publisher of children’s books with its headquarters in New Delhi, has been assiduously seeking out new markets and expansion prospects. With an emphasis on Eastern and North Eastern states like West Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand, Meghalaya, and Assam, the children’s publisher has launched an aggressive marketing campaign under its “Look East Policy”. According to an internal survey, parents and their kids are still willing to purchase and read books in these states.

The Children’s Book Trust (CBT) began the year by taking part in the 41st Asansol Book Fair in Asansol, the second most populous city in West Bengal. They will then participate in the 48th International Kolkata Book Fair, which will take place from January 28 to February 9, 2025. Additionally, from February 1st to February 9th, 2025, the trust will participate in the 52nd New Delhi World Book Fair.

Mr. Robinder Nath Sachdeva, Trustee, of Children’s Book Trust, and Ms. Rana Siddiqui Zaman, Lead Strategist, Content, Communications & Promotions, of Children’s Book Trust shed light on their new marketing campaign.

According to Mr. Robinder Nath Sachdeva, Trustee of the Children’s Book Trust, “Based on our internal survey and the positive response at the fairs here, CBT is considering opening bookstores in well-known Eastern Indian cities that are designed as children’s fun zones with entertaining activities for kids. In addition to physical exercises and enjoyable activities, the goal is to divert kids from excessive mobile phone use by exposing them to good literature that reflects Indian cultural and moral values”.

In an attempt to bring kids and their books closer together and showcase them in fresh and creative ways, CBT will also step up its efforts to visit libraries and schools in Eastern and North Eastern India.
