“Cinema Is My Best Friend And It Inspires Me”-Rituparna Sengupta
The first look launch of the upcoming Bengali film Antardrishti took place in the presence of the cast and crew of the film.
This film marks the directorial debut of renowned cinematographer Kabir Lal.
Antardrishti is a revenge thriller.
It has been made in four languages namely Bengali, Marathi, Kannada, and Tamil.
This is a remake of the well-known Spanish thriller Julia’s Eyes.
The story of the film is about two sisters. The younger sister is killed and the elder sister sets out to unravel the mystery behind the death of her sister.
Rituparna Sengupta plays a visually challenged character.
The cast of the Bengali version consists of Sean Banerjee and Indrajit Chakraborty with Rituparna. The Marathi version titled Adrushya stars Manjari Fadnnis. The Tamil version- Un Paarvaiyil, stars Gayatri Shankar, and the Telugu version, Agochara, stars Esha Chawala.
Sean Banerjee who has been seen playing many positive characters on the small screen will be seen in the role of the antagonist in this film. This is Sean’s debut feature film. “It is Ritu di who asked me to do this film. I was skeptical whether I will be able to pull this part of a negative character. But Ritu di placed her confidence in me and I am thankful for that. I will also like to add that it was a great experience working with Kabir Lal” said Sean.
Rituparna said “It is a very special day for me. Cinema is my best friend. Cinema inspires me. When a person like Kabir ji was speaking with me about Julia’s Eyes, I was very excited. We decided to make the film. Kabir ji has worked with both actors of the old school and also with the new-age actors. He has wide experience. I am glad that I am a part of his directorial debut”.
The film has been shot in exotic locales of Dehradun.
According to Rituparna, the film will be a visual treat for the audience. “Kabir ji sees a location in a different way than most of us do” added the actress.
The film is eyeing for release soon.
