Cinemar Samabartan Celebrated The Best Of Bengali Cinema
The renowned Priya Cinema hosted the West Bengal Film Journalists’ Association Award (WBFJA) also called Cinemar Samabartan.
Ajanta Circus was the original location, but due to concerns about everyone’s safety, the organizers had to change it at the last minute. The organizers had to change the location due to a recent incident involving a national superstar that resulted in an unwelcome stampede. This year’s award honored the legendary Raj Kapoor on the centennial of his birth.
Prominent journalists and film reviewers, as well as members of the Bengali cinema industry, graced the award event.
In addition to the Satyajit Ray Lifetime Achievement Award, which was given to Ms. Aparna Sen for her outstanding acting and contributions to the cinema industry, there were eight technical award categories and eighteen popular award categories.
The nomination categories were for Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor in Leading Role, Best Actress in a Leading Role, Best Actor in a Supporting Role, Best Actress in a Supporting Role, Best Actor in a Negative Role, Best Actor in Comic Role, Best Music, Best Playback Singer (Male), Best Playback Singer (Female), Best Music Director, Best Background Score, Most Promising Director, Most Promising Actor, Most Promising Actress, Most Popular Film of the Year & Most Popular Actor of the Year.
The technical segment award categories were Best Screenplay, Best Cinematographer, Best Editor, Best Lyricist, Best Art Director, Best Sound Designer, Best Costume Designer, and Best Makeup Artist.
