CK Birla Hospitals- CMRI introduced Robotic Ortho Surgery for the first time in the eastern part of the country. The latest cutting-edge technology for knee replacement is a high-end replacement procedure that will help surgeons to deliver good results with an increase in accuracy levels.

Orthopedic robotic surgeon Dr. Rakesh Rajput, along with Sabyasachi Chakraborty, Bonny Sengupta, and patients namely Prasanta Das, Sadhana Pal, Sunita Seth, Sova Samaddar, and Mihir Kumar Kar graced the occasion.

Dr. Rakesh Rajput is the only trained orthopedic surgeon in robotic procedures who have completed a number of robotics joint replacement surgeries in the city. With this surgery, one can save the normal structures of the joint easily. The patients can recover fast and as a result, they can be discharged quickly too. This reduces human error and increases the longevity of the joint implant.

Speaking at the occasion, Sabyasachi Chakraborty said “I knew Dr. Rajput for quite some time now. One of our technicians’ legs was severely hurt during a shooting. He helped the man and now the technician walks with a limp. We had never thought that he will be able to walk again after such a terrible accident. After that incident, he has become our family doctor with regards to any kind of orthopedic problem”.
