Before the press conference of the Bangla Sangeet Mela 2024-25, an amazing curtain raiser event was organized in Rabindra Sadan premises.

The press conference was graced by Hon’ble MOS Indranil Sen, Saikat Mitra, Shibaji Chatterjee, and many other eminent guests.

Speaking at the press conference, Indranil Sen said “I am glad that I work under Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. She is not only an able politician but also a great admirer of music and arts. And that is aptly reflected in the initiatives she takes in promoting art and craft in Bengal. Bangla Sangeet Mela since its inception has always been at the helm for promoting music and musicians from different parts of the state”.

It will take place in 11 places like Rabindra Sadan, Sisir Mancha, Mahajati Sadan, Hedua Park, Madhusudan Muktamancha, Ektara Muktamancha, Deshapriya Park, Rishi Aurobindo Park (Netaji Nagar), Mohor Kunja, and others.

The musical events will start daily at 5 pm and end at 9 pm.

More than 5000 musicians from Kolkata and other districts will be a part of this music festival. Bengali bands will also be performing at this festival. Talented musicians who participated in the various competitions organized by the Bengal government will also be performing at Bangla Sangeet Mela.

Centenary tribute will be paid to Utpala Sen, Suchitra Mitra, Chobi Bandopadhyay, and Konika Bandopadhyay. This will take place at Gaganendra Shilpa Pradarshashala from 2 pm to 9 pm.

Book stalls, food stalls, and handicraft stalls will also be found in this musical festival.

The Bangla Sangeet Mela 2024-25 will continue till the 9^th of January 2025.
