Complete Guide on How To Preserve Your Silk Saris
Love your silks? Then read on to know how to preserve your silks gently. Mr. Gaurav Agarwal, Director of Sundari Sari has shed light on important aspects on how to preserve silks.
Silks are much loved by the people especially during the winters and also for wearing at different occasions. Since the wedding season is on, people love to wear silk saris for the occasion. Fashionistas also prefer to wear silks as layer, skirt, stole, wrap and in other forms as well.
Wearing silks during the winters is on the to-do list of many women. They have received many silk saris from their mothers and grandmothers. However once the winter gets over and silks are worn less, then the question arises as to how to take good care of the saris and preserve them well for future use.
One of the most important aspects to keep in mind is that the silk saris must be washed, ironed and stored in a good way. The saris have to be kept separate from other saris. The saris with heavy Zari work must not be kept in the open. This is simply because the Zari can become dirty and the colour may also fade. To wash the silk saris, one must always use good detergent powder. One must never use harsh detergent or warm water. The saris need to be dry washed regularly. One must never put the iron on the sari directly. Instead one must out a cotton cloth on the sari and then iron it.
Keeping these few simple steps in mind will enable one to keep the silk saris in good condition for many years.
