Conclusion Of The 4th EVM-i Skill Course: CME Cum Live Workshop In Kolkata
In contrast to open surgery, endovascular treatment is less intrusive, prevents injury to nearby tissue, and may have lower rates of morbidity and death than traditional care.
The 4th Endo Vascular Management-India (EVM-i) Skill Course: CME cum Live Workshop at the Sonnet Hotel and HP Ghosh Hospital in Kolkata came to a successful conclusion. This invitation-only gathering gave medical professionals a comprehensive education focused on the most recent developments in endovascular care.
Under the direction of Dr. Jayanta Das and Dr. K. Mukherjee, the workshop addressed vital topics like managing varicose veins and venous leg ulcers (VLUs), managing peripheral arterial disease (PAD) through angioplasty and stenting, managing wounds, and using compression garments and devices. Through interactive simulation stations, participants gained firsthand experience with medical hardware and tools, endovenous ablation, angioplasty and stenting, and vascular anastomosis.
The event featured sessions on vascular ultrasound theory and practical applications, ultrasound-guided puncture of internal jugular (IJV), femoral, and popliteal veins, and the use of medical stockings and four-layer compression stockings.
Participants also received training in treatments for varicose veins, including endovenous laser therapy (EVLT), radiofrequency (RF) ablation, foam sclerotherapy, glue closure, and mechanical occlusion chemically assisted ablation (MOCA).
Additional topics included peripheral angioplasty and stenting, closing perforator veins, permacath and chemoport insertion, advanced foam sclerotherapy, intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) and deep venous interventions, ultrasound-guided arteriovenous (AV) fistula angioplasty, and hybrid treatments for arteriovenous malformations.
The workshop featured distinguished faculty members from around the world, including Dr. Mogan Naidu (Malaysia), Dr. Razni Kassim (Sri Lanka), Dr. Shantanu Ghosh (Bangladesh), Dr. Sandeep Pandey (Nepal), Dr. Ravul Jindal (Chandigarh), and Dr. Dheepak Selvaraj (CMC Vellore) and many more national and international faculties. Their wide range of experiences and varied points of view enhanced the program and gave attendees a comprehensive grasp of endovascular care.
The 4th EVM-i Skill Course promoted a cooperative learning atmosphere that made it possible for students to have in-depth conversations and intimate interactions with the instructors. The practical insights and real-world implementations of the hands-on training sessions were especially valued.
The workshop’s successful conclusion brought to light the significance of ongoing education and career advancement for those working in the medical industry. EVM-i is still devoted to offering top-notch educational programs and building a network of knowledgeable professionals who are passionate about enhancing patient outcomes.
