Confluence of Bangladeshi And Bengali Cuisines at Food Joint Ichamotee
A country’s cuisine is undoubtedly one of the most important things. The same goes for Bangladesh. The culinary and cultural traditions of Bangladesh have close relations with that of Bengal and Northeast India, with some unique traits of their own.
Without further ado, one can gorge on delicious Bangladeshi dishes at newly opened restaurant, Ichamotee. Like Ichamati, the river that confluences the customs and cuisines of both Bengals, Ichamotee the eatery serves the best of both Bangladeshi & Bengali cuisines along with Mughlai delicacies.
This 100 seater restaurant is spread across 2500 sq ft.
Mitasree, the owner of Ichamotee, rightly quotes, that food acts as the link between the people from both the countries.
For breakfast, which the Bangladeshis fondly call “Nashta”, one can dig into their soft luchis paired with cholar daal or daal fry. Or if one has liking for
sweets, the luchis or porotas can be paired with halwa. For those of us, who want to start their day on a meaty note, dig into their “Khaashir Paaya”.
One can choose to pair their steamed rice with “Kochu Patar Chingri”, “Shutki Bharta” and “Loita Bhorta”. The ones who don’t like to try these lesser known palettes can opt for their Ilish. Their other specialty Kachchi Biriyani is the famous Mughlai dish that hails from Bangladesh.
Ichamotee is open from 8 am to 11 am for breakfast, from 12 pm to 4 pm for lunch and from 7 pm to 11:30 pm for dinner.
