Cultural Evening Banglar Mukh Organized on International Mother Language Day
Noted singer Riddhi Bandyopadhyay, Carpe Diem and Shyam Sarkar jointly presented “Banglar Mukh” a unique cultural evening to celebrate the International Mother Language Day.
Art forms of Bengal like Pater gaan, Bahurupi act, Baul Gaan, Chhou Dance, old theatre songs and Pancha Kobir Gaan were showcased at the event.
National award winning Kalpana Chitrakar and Nooruddin Chitrakar( Pater Gaan, Midnapore ) Bhaskar Mahato, Phatikchandra Mahato ( Chhau dance, Puruliya), Subol Das Bairagya and Dhaneshwar Bairagya ( Bahurupi, Bhirbhum ), Gaur Das Baul ( Baul songs, Bhirbhum ), Devajit Bandyopadhyay in old theatre songs, Riddhi Bandyopadhyay in Pancha Kobir Gaan performed at the event.
The gala cultural extravaganza was directed by Riddhi Bandyopadhyay while conceptualized by Sudipta Chanda. It is a homage to those unsung heroes who still keep various root performing art forms alive facing various hassles in their daily life.
