The Heritage Institute of Technology (HITK) organized a cultural event “Prothoma”, to celebrate the colors of the Durga Puja Festival in West Bengal. It was organized by the Pravasana and Science Clubs of HITK.

The event was inaugurated by Pradip Agarwal, CEO, of Heritage Group of Institutions, Kolkata in the presence of other faculty and staff members of the institute.

This year, Prothoma showcased a fusion of science and art where students from the Pravasan Club displayed their paintings and photographs, and the Science Club of HITK displayed some of the scientific findings on how people can responsibly celebrate Durga Puja without polluting the water bodies by throwing away waste, sending a clear message of social responsibility to the audience.

In addition to this, the event featured some of the ethnic dances that students had organized to herald the start of the Durga Puja festival on campus.
