Women have been the backbone of agriculture for many decades, tending crops, tilling the land covertly, and guaranteeing food security for communities and families. However, their contributions and stories are still untold. With the launch of Customised My Stamp, a unique initiative in partnership with the Department of Posts, Government of India, PepsiCo India, through its Lay’s brand, has made a significant advancement by honoring the backbone of Indian agriculture: women farmers.

Postal stamps are a classic form of correspondence that have developed into collectibles and have come to represent important moments in Indian history and culture. By selecting stamps, Lay draws attention to the tireless work of our women farmers, who are frequently unsung heroines who have made a significant contribution to India’s agricultural landscape.

At the release ceremony, which took place at the PepsiCo India office in Gurgaon, representatives from the Department of Posts and PepsiCo India celebrated a common goal of supporting women in agriculture. With this launch, PepsiCo India and USAID’s Global Development Alliance Project (GDA) is expanding its multifaceted program, Project Farm Equal. By addressing their particular difficulties, the project empowers over 2,500 women farmers and acts as an homage to their unwavering spirit as well as a catalyst for additional empowerment.

The colorful image of a lady farmer wearing a yellow saree and carrying a basket full of freshly picked potatoes is featured on the set of 12 My Stamp. This picture is a poignant depiction of the innumerable ladies who toil away in Lay’s potato fields, serving as a symbol of their devotion and selflessness.

With this project, the important role that women play in agriculture is finally brought to light. It’s a significant acknowledgment of their commitment and tenacity as well as a first step in removing the obstacles they encounter. These stamps, which will be on sale at the e-post office starting on June 15th, are a concrete representation of Lay’s commitment to supporting women in agriculture.
