Do you know how dangerous your smartphone could be? Scammers may utilize your cell phone to take your hard-earned money. Because of the methods used by hackers, you could fall victim to fraud at any time. Young filmmaker Debarati Bhowmick is making a cybercrime film called “Najarbandi” to bring attention to cybercrime. “Najarbandi” is Debarati’s second thriller after “Kantataar,” which focused on the genocide in 1971 in Pakistan.

The film is directed by Debarati Bhowmick.

The director said “I chose a few female characters to help tell the story of the commercial film Najarbandi. But that raises the question, why only women? I believed it was my responsibility as a female filmmaker to show the audience that women are just as capable of pulling off white-collar crimes, riding motorcycles like their male counterparts, performing beautifully in battle scenes, and causing conflict and/or poison in intimate relationships”.

The cast of the film consists of Rituparna Sengupta, Madhumita Sarkar, Anindita Basu, Rajnandini Paul, and Sohag Sen.

Rituparna plays the painter in this film, while  Sohag Sen plays Rituparna’s mother. In this film, Madhumita and Rajnandini play the antagonists, and Anindita Bose plays a police officer.

The storyline of the movie is its unique selling proposition because it only has female characters. Consequently, the director decided to exclude all male characters from the picture. Stated differently, Najarbandi depicts women as victims of crime, criminals, and even law enforcement officials.

The movie will feature music, romantic tension, fight scenes, and features of entertaining commercial films. There has never been a Bengali full-length feature film with just female characters, thus the film’s creators think that the public will be interested in witnessing this one.

Debarati has written the story and script for the film.

The film is produced by a Mumbai-based production firm and Chatterjee Films from Kolkata.
