Dead Man’s Switch Highlights Crisis Of Missing People In Mexico
Arillo De Hombre Muerto or Dead Man’s Switch is a Mexican film that was screened at the ongoing 30th Kolkata International Film Festival.
The director Alejandro Gerber Bicecci was at the 30th KIFF to speak about the film. His earlier films were Vaho (2009) and A Separate Wind (2014).
Speaking at the press conference, the director said “I have been to Kolkata ten years ago at KIFF for one of my films. I am glad that I could be a part of this film festival yet again. This film will showcase the crisis of missing people in Mexico. Many people go missing in the nation. This is a great social and political crisis. The film shows the crisis from the point of view of a family whose member has gone missing”.
The film is about Dalia, a woman in her forties. Her husband has disappeared without a trace. Her life and her job as a subway driver go for a toss. What happens next?
The producer of the film is Juan Pablo Miquirray.
The music has been composed by Alejandro Otaola.
The cast of the film consists of Adriana Paz who plays Dalia, and Noe Hernandez who plays Carlos Lopez.
The film is a part of the International Competition: Innovation in Moving Images.
