Biswajit Ghosh, owner of Destination 16 has been in the food and beverage industry for more than 20 years. He has been associated with reputed brands in different positions. He has amassed a lot of experience in this field as a result of this. His hometown is Chandannagar. He has also worked in Mumbai for many years.

In 2021, he thought of starting a café in his hometown. He named Café Destination. “Whenever we go out of our homes, we have a fixed destination. Whenever a patron goes out of their home, let their destination be my café. Hence the name” said Mr. Ghosh.

The café has been running successfully in Chandannagar.

It was his dream to open a food joint in the Park Street area. Hence he came up with this restaurant cum nightclub for patrons. Since the pin code is Kolkata-700016, hence the name is Destination 16.

Mr. Ghosh highlighted that when more restaurants are opened, the term Destination will be in the names. It is more like a Destination chain.

The area is 4260 square feet and can seat 150 customers at one time.

There is a dance floor, private dining area, smoking area, and DJ console for patrons.

The design for the restaurant has been handed solely by Mr. Ghosh.

Mocktails on offer include Blow Horn, Batch 99, Hurricane, Destination Sour, Consultation, and Mexican Gimlet.

The menu has multi-cuisine food to cater to the different needs of the customers.

The food menu consists of Thai Fish Cake, Aglio Olio Cheese Prawns, Dilkasa Chicken, Charsi Chicken, Schezwan Chicken Tikka, Chicken Ullash, Peri Peri Cheesy Paneer,  Cajun Cheesy Lolypop, Veloute Pasta, and many more.

Mr. Ghosh said that he caters to all age groups of clients. Students, families, office goers- everyone can spend quality time at Destination 16. The ambiance is such that no one will feel uncomfortable. It has everything for everyone.

The pocket pinch for two is Rs 1400 to Rs 1600. The restaurant is closed on Monday.

“We have researched and found that customers often cannot go to many nightclubs due to the high pricing. Understanding that we have kept our pricing affordable so that all can enjoy. If we cater to a particular clientele, then many people will not be able to come here” added Mr. Ghosh.

There is no booking charge, or entry fee at Destination 16. Exceptional days are the festive days.

Private parties and corporate events can also be organized here.

Mr. Ghosh plans to open a new destination outlet abroad and also wants to open in other parts of India.
