Dev announced his next film Kishmish via a teaser on social media on Valentine’s Day.

The romantic comedy film will see Dev and Rukmini Maitra come together yet again. Dev will be seen in three different avatars in the film. A large portion of the film will be shot in 2D animation and this is the type of work that will be done in Bengali films for the first time.

Rahul Mukhopadhyay will be making his debut with this film as a director. The director had this idea in mind for a long time. And he had in mind the pair of Dev and Rukmini from the initial stages.

The film’s story will show three times- 80’s, 2000 and present times. Dev’s character will be seen in the three timelines. One character will be seen against political backdrop, the other is a family man and the third is a cartoonist. The story will show how today’s generation views love and how their parents viewed love. The story will be very relatable for the audience.

Kharaj Mukherjee, Anjana Basu, Kamaleshwar Mukherjee will be seen in other pivotal roles in the film.

 The shoot of the film will begin from May. The shoot will be done in Kolkata, North Bengal and also in foreign locales.

The film will be releasing on Durga Puja 2020.
