So who was Raghu Dakaat? Raghu was a notorious dacoit. The British government had issued a bounty on his head. However, no one reported him since he was a Robin Hood who plundered the corrupt wealthy and distributed the proceeds to famine-stricken families, widows, and needy children. Rabindranath Tagore highlighted this in his collection of poems, Sesh-Saptak.
