“Dharmajuddha tells what is going around us. This is not for any political party or against any political party. Problems between Hindus and Muslims have been there since times immemorial and riots and problems have surfaced time and again. The film shows what happens as a result of these tiffs and how the normal people suffer from these incidents” said director Raj Chakraborty at the trailer launch of the film, Dharmajuddha.

Subhashree, Parno Mittra, Swatilekha Sengupta and others also graced the event.

Subhashree Ganguly looked beautiful and sexy in a white sari that she wore at the event. “I won’t reveal much about Munni. She is a normal girl who gets married and is nine months pregnant when the riot starts. I had to work on my diction, my body language as because the woman was pregnant and pregnant ladies walk in a different manner. The diction was also different and so I had to work on that too” said the actress.

The director revealed during the trailer launch how his wife, Subhashree gave the idea of making this film. “It is high time and I had to make this film so that the people became aware of the things happening around them and how that affects their lives. I love shooting in Purulia and hence I shot the film there. The harshness in the environment lends a different element to the film’s cinematography” added the director.

Parno Mittra plays the role of Shabnam. “The character that I was offered was something that is challenging and I had a great time shooting the film. I also quarrelled with Subhashree (laughs). The script was awesome, the co-stars very talented and we had a good director- so we all had a great time shooting the film” said Parno.

Swatilekha Sengupta plays the role of Ammi in the film. “I always trust my daughter Sohini. So when she said that I must go forward and shoot this film, I agreed. As an actress, I also felt that it is high time that I let my thoughts out in the public so that my fans can know about it. With this film, I have been able to do that” said the veteran actress.

Ritwick Chakraborty will be seen in the role of Raghav while Soham will be seen in the role of Jabbar.

Subhashree was so excited about the story that she wanted to be a part of the film in any way possible. “If I was not offered a role in the film, I had asked Raj to make me his assistant. I anyhow wanted to be a part of the film. This is such an important film and the topic is so very relevant” said Subhashree.

The music of the film has been composed by Indraadip Dasgupta. There are three songs in the film. Two of them have been released and are receiving great appreciation from the audience. The third song will be released soon.

The film is eyeing for release on 20^th March.
