Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh along with Churni Ganguly and Tota Roy Chowdhury promoted Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani in Kolkata.

The cast also released the song Dhindhora Baje Re.

Despite their differences, Punjabi boy Rocky and the sophisticated Bengali journalist Rani fall in love. They choose to spend three months living with the families of each other after experiencing opposition from their own. What happens next?

Speaking at the press conference, Alia Bhatt said “It was a great experience to work with such legendary actors on the sets of this film. I had the thought that we might end up portraying stereotypical characters. Hence I asked Churni mam often and with other inputs, I hope I have played a modern Bengali girl without stereotyping the character of Rani”.

Tota who plays the role of Alia’s father in the film said “Alia is spontaneous while Ranveer is a method actor. It was such a lively scene to watch on the sets of the film. I had a fantastic time working with them. And the topping on the cake is that I got to share the screen with legends like Dharmendra ji, Jaya Bachchan Ji, and Shabana Azmi ji. Jaya ji was joking at one moment with us and when it was time for the shot, she was again in the character. It was a learning experience for me”.

Tota also said that this has been a great cinematic experience for him.

Ranveer Singh said “I am a different Karan Johar hero. I am glad that I could retain my personality in the character I portrayed. There is my acting style in the portrayal of Rocky. Rocky is distinctive from the other heroes of Karan Johar for sure”.

Churni Ganguly who plays the role of Alia’s mother in the film said “It was a lifetime experience working opposite such stalwarts. I must also praise Ranveer and Alia for their wonderful acting skills. They were a pleasure to watch”.

The film has been directed by Karan Johar and the music has been composed by Pritam.

Alia and Ranveer were full of praise for one another. Alia said that working opposite Ranveer means that the other actor has to increase his energy levels or that person will lag behind. “We understand each other very well. We both are a number 6 person and hence we think alike. There are situations when I did not have to say anything and yet he understood” added the actress.

The film is eyeing for release on 28^th July.
