After the great success of director Arjunn Dutta’s film Abyakto, the director announced his new Bengali film Shrimati. The story and script has also been done by Arjunn Dutta.

Shrimati is a story of an upper middle class, simple, fun loving, disorganised housewife madly in love with her husband named Sri. She falls prey to society’s glamour and in the bargain loses her own identity. In today’s world, where the outer appearance means everything Sri falls victim to the cliche problem of outward appearance. She becomes obsessed and in the process almost loses her mind and identity till the sudden realisation that – irrespective of the way people think and the way the world goes – one should never forget the soul that dwells within.

Swastika Mukherjee as Shrimati, Soham Chakraborty as Anindya, Barkha Bisht Sengupta as Mallika, Kheya Chattopadhyay as Kajol, Trina Saha as Brishti, Debjani Bose as Pratima, Sudarshan Chakravorty as dance teacher and Uday Pratap Singh as gym trainer will be seen in pivotal roles in the film.

The cinematographer of the film is Supratim Bhol (WICA) while the editor is Sujay Datta Ray. The music will be composed by Soumya Rit.

The film will be produced by Kan Singh Sodha.
