“Charulata invokes nostalgia for most of us. I have known Reshmi for many years now. Both Madhabi Aunty and I have worked with her and she knows both of us very well. This is a great thing for me that Reshmi has come out with her book that is on both of us. She has devoted much of her time and efforts to this book” said Rituparna Sengupta at the book launch of Charulata written by Reshmi Mitra.

The book launch was graced by Subhaprasanna Bhattacharya, Jogen Chowdhury, Debasish Sen, Prof Manoshi Roychowdhury, Rupa Majumder, Rituparna Sengupta, and others.

Charulata is an interview-based exploration of the lives and careers of Madhabi Mukherjee and Rituparna Sengupta. It has been authored by journalist-director-turned-author Reshmi Mitra.

Reshmi Mitra was a journalist before she turned director. She has been writing since class three. It was the first time that her story was published. She has also contributed to different magazines.

Rituparna Sengupta also added that she had also acted in a film titled Charuulata 2011 directed by Agnidev Chatterjee.

The book is published by Raunaq Publication and it is their debut release.

The book is priced at Rs 220 and will be available at online marketplaces like Flipkart and Amazon. It will also be available at offline bookstores as well.
