After making Network, director Saptaswa Basu is back with another feature film titled Pratidwandi. The team is battling with the Covid-19 atmosphere to create magic on the big screen. Saptaswa’s Pratidwandi pays tribute to the legendary filmmaker Satyajit Ray.

Dr. Bakshi (Saswata Chatterjee) seeks the help of Siddharta and his team of private investigators when his son gets kidnapped from school. While investigating, the team finds out that the kidnapping is connected to a series of recent murders in Kolkata. A maths teacher, Sukumar Sen (Rudranil Ghosh) appears to have a grudge and rivalry with Dr. Bakshi. So, is this maths teacher behind these crimes? What is the reason for this enmity?

The other cast members of the film are being finalized while Saayoni Ghosh, Rini Ghosh, Maahi Kar, Rajdeep Sarkar and newcomer Sirshaa are already preparing for their respective roles.

Ranojoy Bhattacharya (of Sweater fame) will be composing the music and an RnB theme song is being produced by Raz Dee as well, who is based out of Canada at present.

The film is being produced by Neo Studios, Kashish and SS Entertainment.

The story of Pratidwandi has been written by Rini Ghosh while the screenplay is being written by Arnab Bhaumik and his team.

The film will begin shooting in September.
