Doaansh To Release On 5th July; Trailer And Music Out Now
The trailer and music launch of the upcoming Bengali film Doaansh was graced by the cast of the film.
The film revolves around Sarathi Sardar aged 55 who lives in the Sundarbans with her granddaughter Jhumri. Jhumri’s love interest is Dibakar. He learns the art of gathering honey from his father’s friend Nimai. He comes back after collecting the honey on the first day. But he does not come back the next day. People thought that he is been taken away by the tiger. Jhumri does not believe that. What happens next?
The main characters of this drama are Dibakar and Jhumri, who are portrayed by Anubhav Kanjilal and Sritama Dey, respectively, and whose families were killed in tiger attacks. The drama revolves around their strong love and fight. The movie goes into great detail about how they escape those contractors’ hold and carry on with their journey.
Anubhav Kanjilal, Sritama Dey, Sanjita Mukherjee, Kingshuk Ganguly, Payel Roy, Rupam Bhowmick and others will be seen in pivotal roles in the film.
Sritama Dey said “I am biased towards the character of Jhumri. When I first got the script, I knew it will be a different character from the ones I have played. And yes it is a special one. Whenever I see this character, there is a great amount of love that I feel for Jhumri. Despite the challenges we faced during the shoot, Jhumri will always be special”.
Anubhav Kanjilal said that the film was an ambitious project. “I and Sritama did most of the scenes in the mud. It was challenging to an extent. The team was so helpful and was so emotionally attached that it did not feel much challenging. This is indeed a great experience for me”.
The film is directed by Sayan Bandopadhyay. In the Sundarbans, contractors choose who gets to collect crabs and honey. This film is based on this illegal rule of the contractors.
The director also added that Anubhav had said that he had not stepped in the sands of the Yamuna. And he had to get in the mud for the shoot of the film. He was much professional and he did that without batting an eyelid. As for Sritama, he said that the kids in the area started to call Sritama as Jhumri didi. Later the actress had a problem adjusting to city life after her stay in the Sundarbans.
The music has been composed by Surodeep Hazra. Aheli Sarkar, Parijat Pradhan and Saptarshi Naskar have sung the songs in the film.
Produced by Mojotale Entertainment, the story, and dialogue have been penned down by Sayan Bandopadhyay.
The film is eyeing for release on 5th July.
