We all have our ways of relieving stress. It may be by watching films or by going on a trip or by spending time with friends and families. But what happens to doctors and nurses? How can they relieve stress? Due to the pandemic, they have been working non-stop for saving the lives of the patients. They did not have any source of entertainment. This led many of them to become stressed.

Understanding this need of the medical practitioners and the other hospital staff, B.P. Poddar Hospital organized an annual cultural program titled Udjapan 2022.

The event took place at Uttam Mancha.

The doctors, staff, and nurses of the hospital took part in the different activities that were part of this event.

Dance, individual performances, drama, dance drama, and the singing band were all part of this annual cultural event.

The highlight of the event was the fashion show. Doctors, nurses, and other staff of the hospital took part in it. The outfits for the fashion show were designed by Dalia Mitra, whose fashion label is Dashobhuja.

Speaking about the outfits, designer Dalia Mitra said “Since this is an organization based in the East, I focused on art forms of Eastern India. I selected some art forms that will suit the fashion show. Madhubani from Bihar, Naksha, Kantha Stitch, Machher Biye has been used for the different outfits. B.P. Poddar’s logo has red, blue, and white and hence I have used these colors for the outfits”.

Dr. Swastik Nandi and Dr. Angshuman Dutta along with Nursing Director Mrs. Ashima Bhattacharya were the showstoppers for the fashion show.

The organizers organized an event of this caliber many years ago. However, since they have again started this event, they wish to continue hosting such an event annually for entertaining the medical team at the hospital.
