Donor Recipient Meet Organized By DATRI Blood Stem Cell Donors Registry
DATRI Blood Stem Cell Donors Registry organized a Donor Recipient Meet (DRM) at Tata Medical Center Auditorium, Kolkata.
Dr. Mammen Chandy, Director, Tata Medical Center, Ms. Sumati Misra, Head-Counseling and Transplant Centre Management, DATRI, and others graced the event.
Thirteen-year-old Alivia Rout from Balasore, Odisha was suffering from Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, a kind of blood cancer. She got to meet her Stem cell donor Prashanth Venkataraman.
Chandranath Banerjee, a 14-year-old from Agarpara, West Bengal was also suffering from Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. He was saved by Nizamudheen who is from Mallapuram, Kerala.
Dr. Chandy highlighted the fact that more and more people should come forward and donate Stem cells. It will help in saving the lives of many people.
The donors urged the common people to get themselves tested and register as potential donors. The joy of saving someone’s life is unparalleled according to them.
