Dr. K. A. Paul, the founder of the Global Peace Initiative (GPI) and the most popular evangelist in the world, reiterated his plea for international cooperation to put an end to current conflicts and stop them from getting worse during a press conference at the Press Club of Kolkata.

Speaking to the media, Dr. Paul emphasized that he has been involved in global peace initiatives since 1981 and stated that India must take the lead in advancing world peace. He cited his recent speech at the U.S. Congress in Kansas on January 15, in which he demanded an urgent end to worldwide conflicts, as well as his subsequent conversations with high-ranking world leaders.

He also brought up the international peace demonstration that took place in Chennai on February 22, where religious leaders and people of many faiths came together to promote harmony and communication. Dr. Paul emphasized that peace initiatives must transcend political affiliations and ideological divides, claiming that governments, civic society, religious institutions, and the media must work together to find long-term answers.

Dr. Paul emphasized the connection between stability and economic expansion by stating, “Where there is peace, there is prosperity and development”. He pointed out that cities that have embraced peace and long-term planning have experienced rapid development, and he added that areas that place a high priority on harmony and international cooperation could undergo a similar change.

In response to inquiries about current international disputes, Dr. Paul reaffirmed his participation in mediation initiatives in a number of nations and urged people, non-governmental organizations, and world leaders to take appropriate action to avert a more serious catastrophe. He emphasized that humanitarian involvement, democracy, and communication are still crucial foundations for resolving conflicts.

As part of his larger goal to mobilize people for world peace, Dr. Paul also announced intentions to host a sizable peace demonstration in West Bengal. He clarified that the Global Peace Initiative sought participation and solidarity rather than cash contributions and urged people of all faiths and communities to participate as peace partners.

Additionally, Dr. Paul stated that he planned to meet with Mamata Banerjee, the Chief Minister of West Bengal, to talk about international peace initiatives and look at ways to work together to promote development and peace.

Dr. Paul reaffirmed his commitment, stating that moral leadership and group action are essential when geopolitical tensions jeopardize international security. He also called on leaders and citizens to join together for peace.
