Energy Swaraj Yatra Aims To Make People Aware About Utilizing Solar Energy
Energy Swaraj’s idea started with the idea to provide energy supply to individuals, energy security for the country, create livelihood, and deal with climate change simultaneously. To further this idea, Energy Swaraj Yatra is being initiated to promote self-sufficiency or atmanirbharta in the energy field.
A press conference was organized that was graced by Professor Chetan Singh Solanki.
He made an 11-year commitment to this cause and the Energy Swaraj Foundation’s team worked together for helping society adopt solar solutions to fulfill their energy requirements.
The main aim of the Energy Swaraj Yatra is to bring awareness with the help of training and demonstration using the solar bus. For the next 11 years, prof Solanki will be living on the solar bus itself.
This Energy Swaraj Yatra was flagged off by the Honorable Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chouhan on 26th November 2020. The Yatra has been running for 473 days, covered 9000 km, and reached 46000 people.
The Yatra will be able to cover 200, 000 km across the 28 Indian states, provide training to 100, 000 people, and plant 100, 000 saplings.
This is indeed a significant step to solving energy problems and thinking of better ways of utilizing solar energy.
