Indu Sutra opened its first-ever store in Salt Lake.

The launch was graced by eminent actress Rituparna Sengupta and the owner of the store, Lipi Roy.

The name Indu Sutra means strings from the moon.

The main aim of the store is to provide the craftsmanship of Indian textiles in one place. The owner has sourced the saris directly from the weavers. Lipi Roy mentioned that she wanted to promote the art and weavers, and hence she is directly bringing the saris from them.

The store has a homely and comfortable atmosphere.

Indu Sutra also has an exclusive blouse section. The customers can get customized and exclusive blouses matching their saris from this segment.

The owner stated that she wanted to open another branch in South Kolkata. Then she will expand to other states in India.

Rituparna Sengupta browsed through the sari collection and was very impressed with it. She said that even in this age of online shopping, she still prefers to go to an offline store, feel the sari, and then purchase a sari.

The prices of the saris start from Rs 1500 to Rs 30000.
