In the august presence of eminent personalities like Padmashri Pandit Tejendra Narayan Majumdar, Pt Ajoy Chakraborty, Pt Bickram Ghosh, Pt Tanmay Bose, Lopamudra Mitra, Joy Sarkar, and other eminent guests, Swara Samrat Festival 2025-26 was announced.

This is the 13th edition of the music festival.

This music festival has gained fame and popularity among music lovers.

The Swara Samrat Festival is organized by Pt Tejendra Narayan Majumdar and his family every year. The festival has been named after his musical Guru, Ali Akbar Khan.

According to Pt Tejendra Narayan Majumdar, not only seasoned musicians but new musicians also get a platform to showcase their musical skills. He regretted that Ud Zakir Hussain passed away on the day he was scheduled to play at the festival. A tribute to Ud Zakir Hussain will be performed at the musical festival.

Some of the performers at the three-day music festival include Pt. Swapan Chaudhuri, Pt. Tejendra Narayan Majumdar, Kavita Krishnamurthy, Pt. Tanmoy Bose, Sujata Mohapatra, Pt. Ajay Joglekar, Pt. Jayateerth Mevundi, Pt. Ulhas Kashalkar, and many more.

Pt Bickram Ghosh said, “If you look through history, the longest-standing art form is Indian classical music. It has not faded, nor become less important. After the pandemic, most shows on Indian classical music witnessed packed audiences. Indian classical music has never been threatened by the advent of Ghazals, rock, pop music, film music, and other forms of music. Instead, it has grown more popular even in recent times. So do not underestimate the power of Indian classical music”.

The Swara Samrat Festival will take place on December 12th, 13th, and 14th at Nazrul Mancha.

The timings for the different days are:

12th December- 5 pm to 10 pm

13th December- 2 pm to 10 pm

14th December- 2 pm to 10 pm

The tickets are available at Melody, Symphony, and Shyambazar Hosiery.

The prices for the tickets are Rs 200, Rs 300, Rs 500, Rs 1000, Rs 2000, Rs 3000, Rs 4000, and Rs 5000.
