Film On India’s First Girl Detective Kia and Cosmos to Release on 29th March
A press meet was organized to launch the trailer of the Friday release film Kia and Cosmos. Ritwika Pal, Swastika Mukherjee, director Sudipto Roy and others graced the occasion.
The film throws light on the universal themes of parenthood, alternate education, class divisions and the thrill of mystery novels for teenagers. The film pays its tribute to Feluda and Byomkesh Bakshi. Kia is India’s first girl detective.
The director with the help of this film has only tried to bridge the gap between independent low budget films and commercial regional cinema.
The film revolves around Kia who starts investigating the murder of a cat Cosmos. She unravels some truths which changes her life forever. She goes to Kalimpong to search for her missing father. What happens next?
The shooting of the film took place in Kalimpong and Kolkata.
Ritwika Pal is making her debut as Kia, a patient of autism, Swastika Mukherjee will be seen as her single mother and Joy Sengupta as her missing father.
The film is partly crowd funded and will release on 29th March.
