Firdausul Hasan Chosen President Of FFI For The Third Time
After being elected president in 2019 and 2020, Firdausul Hasan, a film producer from Kolkata, has been chosen president of the Film Federation of India (FFI) for the third time. On Tuesday, the elections were held in Goa.
It is well known that India‘s Oscar entry is decided by a jury that FFI nominates. The interests of distributors, exhibitors, producers, and studio owners are represented by the 30 associations that make up the apex body.
“It is a trade association that represents Indian cinema both domestically and abroad. For them to film in more Indian sites that are selected as shooting locations for all movies, we want to assist in drawing attention from worldwide stakeholders” said Hasan.
The producer of Padatik, Shesh Pata, Aparajito, and Mayurakshi stated during his third term that he wanted to expand and concentrate on the northeast. “Hindi films are not the only genre of Indian cinema. Other languages are also available. Spain, Poland, New Zealand, Korea, Israel, France, China, Bangladesh, the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, and Brazil are among the 16 nations with which we now have co-production accords. Our goal is to try to raise this figure,” he stated.
“We are the world’s biggest producer of motion pictures. The film industry has been going through a challenging time since COVID. We’ve recovered a little. However, there are several concerning aspects. There aren’t enough displays here. More regional offices are required so that producers can apply for certification and further simplify the requirements for shooting with animals” said the producer.
Wishing him the best for this third term.
