At the Royal Calcutta Golf Club (RCGC), Manipal Hospitals has opened a cutting-edge First-Aid Centre, marking a major advancement in golfer wellness. Manipal Hospitals has demonstrated its dedication to emergency preparedness by providing RCGC’s caddies with Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training and certification, equipping them with life-saving abilities to react appropriately in dire circumstances.

In front of distinguished RCGC members and Manipal Hospitals dignitaries, Golf Captain Mr. Gaurav Ghosh and Dr. Ayanabh Debgupta, Regional Chief Operating Officer, Manipal Hospitals (East), officially opened the First-Aid Centre. The club’s community enthusiastically participated in the launch event, which was held at the Golf Shade area. The First-Aid Centre will be open daily from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The purpose of the First-Aid Centre is to provide golfers, employees, and guests with on-site first-aid care. Before a patient is transferred to a hospital, the First Aid Centre will assist with immediate stabilisation, particularly in situations where the patient’s life is in danger.

Manipal Hospitals will organize a number of wellness events for club members and golfers throughout the year, emphasizing preventive healthcare and strategies for maintaining physical fitness. A dedicated ambulance will be on hand to handle any emergencies during all sporting events, and Manipal Hospitals will work with RCGC as a healthcare partner.

Recognising the importance of emergency readiness, Manipal Hospitals has started a dedicated CPR training program for RCGC caddies, enabling them to offer prompt assistance in the event of an emergency while on the course. In order to promote players’ recovery and well-being, the hospital group also intends to set up a physio-rehab facility on the property and hold frequent awareness sessions for club members.

A Privilege Card with exclusive healthcare benefits at Manipal Hospitals was also provided to RCGC members as part of this collaboration:

• Sports rehabilitation centres with Manipal’s skilled physiotherapy staff;

• Round-the-clock concierge service with a “Doctor on call” facility
• Free First Responder services, including emergency ambulance pickup

This partnership is a milestone in sports healthcare, ensuring that the club’s athletic environment is not only top-notch but also secure and medically equipped.
