Kolkata will hold the first meeting under India’s G20 presidency in 2023 from January 9 through January 11, 2023. The Global Partnership for Financial Inclusion (GPFI) Working Group of the G20 will hold its inaugural meeting under the G20 India Finance Track. This working group is anticipated to discuss, among other things, ways to strengthen the foundation of the financial system, pursue policies that support leveraging emerging technologies, facilitate remittance flows and lower the cost of remittance transfers, promote consumer protection and financial literacy, and address digital financial literacy and closing the digital divide.

In keeping with the previous G20 meetings conducted in Udaipur, Mumbai, and Bengaluru during the first month of India’s G20 Presidency, the Kolkata summit will also provide an opportunity for visiting delegates to explore the delectable culture of West Bengal. The G20 Delegates will experience Kolkata’s rich culture, mouthwatering cuisine, and historic sites over the course of three days, including its expansive gardens, old institutions, universities, libraries, auditoriums, and art galleries. There would be cultural events and outings, just like at the previous meeting’s locations.
