Christmas is just around the corner. And cake mixing ceremonies are a part of the tradition.

Understanding this need, Five and Dime organized a traditional cake-mixing ceremony.

In the 17th century, cake-making signaled the start of harvest. This ritual was once exclusive to Christian households but is now more widely practiced.

The tradition of cake mixing originated in Europe. The entire family would gather together for this exercise, which represented unity and hard effort. The resulting concoction was then steeped in alcohol and preserved for several weeks. Do you realize that cake mix was once considered a Christmas gift? People used to proudly showcase their unique cake recipes to their friends and relatives.

The guests at the event were Indroneel Mukherjee, Dipannita Acharya, Paromita Ghosh, Apeksha Lahiri, and others.

With this cake-mixing ceremony complete, Five and Dime kickstarted the start to the festivities.
