The annual flagship event of FOGSI – The Federation of Obstetric and Gynaecological Societies of India, the 65th “AICOG 2023” was announced recently.

Dr. Bhaskar Pal, Chair, Org Committee, Dr. Krishnendu Gupta, Chair, Reception Committee, Dr. Basab Mukherjee, Org Secretary, Dr. Dibyendu Banerjee, Org Secretary, Dr. Sajal Datta, Org Vice Chair, Dr. Tulika Jha, Jt Org Secretary, and Dr. Susmita Chattopadhyay, Jt Secretary were present at the press meet.

The five-day conference will attract over 8,000 women health specialists from all over the world. The theme of the conference – Creating Tomorrow Together – the future world is aimed at reducing preventable morbidity and mortality in women aligning with SDG 2030.

This year AICOG 2023 will be inaugurated by Dr. Jeanne Conry, President of FIGO (International Federation of Obstetrics & Gynecology) from the USA who will grace the inaugural function as the “Chief Guest” along with Olympic Medalist and Padma Mary Kom and award-winning Bollywood Actress Vidya Balan who will highlight the importance of the ongoing theme.

The main theme of the conference is as follows:

Increasing rates of Subfertility in the population and the new ART bill
Preventing Cervical Cancer by Screening and HPV vaccination (WHO)
New Frontiers of Ob-Gyn – Cosmetic Gynaecology; Fetal Interventions

Breastfeeding room; Complimentary Stalls to MSF, Iswar Sankalpa, etc.
Public Forum (one-hour open area stage sessions on public awareness)

Save the Girl Child – Nutrition, Menstrual Hygiene, Mental Health etc.
Preserve the Uterus – Hysterectomy the last option

The conference will be held from the 4th to the 8th of January at Biswa Bangla Mela Prangan in Kolkata.
