The number of patients who have fatty liver disease has increased alarmingly. Chronic diseases go untreated for too long and can result in liver cirrhosis or even liver cancer. Liver cancer was the fourth most prevalent cause of cancer-related death in India last year, accounting for approximately 7% of all cancer-related fatalities there.
Thalassemia, Sickle Cell Anaemia, Aplastic Anaemia, and Leukaemias (blood malignancies) are common blood illnesses in children. The development of BMT has improved the efficacy and safety of treating various disorders. BMT is the sole curative therapy for thalassemia. In India, only 20–30% of patients receive matched-related or unrelated donors. But because half-matched transplantation techniques have been improved, parents or half-matched siblings can now donate their bone marrow, which eliminates the waiting period for those who require the procedure right now. When a patient has thalassemia, BMT can prevent them from needing constant transfusions. With a very high success rate of close to 90%, BMT is also the recommended therapeutic option for pediatric aplastic anemia compared to immunosuppressive drugs.
Patients of all ages and from all walks of life may now access the best consultation and care in Gwalior and the surrounding areas without having to bother themselves by traveling to another city thanks to the advent of OPD services. The center will offer professional guidance and care for conditions affecting the liver, pancreas, biliary system, and blood, including acute leukemia, multiple myeloma, aplastic anemia, thalassemia major, sickle cell disease, and various other malignancies.
