Fourth Edition of Dumdum International Film Festival Inaugurated by Bollywood Diva Kangana Ranaut
The fourth edition of Dumdum International Film Festival was inaugurated in the august presence of Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut, Bratya Basu, Prabir Paul and other eminent guests.
The inaugural movie at the film festival is Baranda directed by Reshmi Mitra and features Bratya Basu, Rituparna Sengupta in pivotal roles. Six other films will be shown at the festival. Films from countries like USA, Spain, Turkey, Germany, South Korea and India will be shown at the festival.
Speaking at the event, Bratya Basu said “It is due to the inspiration of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee that there has been a vast face lift of Dumdum. Now film festival, food festival, drama festival and many other things are organized in Dumdum so as to entertain the people living here”.
Kangana Ranaut and the other guests present at the event unveiled the brochure of the film festival.
Looking radiant in a green sari and sporting her curls, Kangana cast a pretty picture at the event. She mentioned the fact that Bengalis have played an important role in her career. She referred to Swami Vivekananda whose teachings had a wide impact on her life.
The second person that she gave credit is director Anurag Basu who gave her the first break in films. She mentioned that whatever she has learned about films and acting is from him.
The trailer of her upcoming film Manikarnika was also showed at the event.
The film festival will continue till 25th December.
