Leading Kolkata hospital Techno India Dama Hospital, in partnership with Mission Smile and the Muthoot Pappachan Foundation, will host a thorough Cleft Surgical Camp, offering deserving young adults and children from West Bengal, free cleft operations. The mission will run for five days, from June 26 to June 30, 2024.

The announcement was made in the presence of Prof. Manoshi Roychowdhury, Co-Chairperson, of Techno India Group, Mr. Jayanto Narayan Choudhury, former DGP Assam and DG-NSG and Co-Chairman of Mission Smile, Mr. Bibil Jacob, Vice President of Muthoot Fincorp Limited, Eminent Plastic Surgeons of East India, Dr. Anjana Malhotra (Principal Chief Medical Director of South Eastern Railway) and Dr. Manish Mukul Ghosh, Mr Conrad Dennis, CEO-Mission Smile and Dr. Sourav Ghosh, Medical Director, Techno India Dama Hospital.

They aim to do 60 to 65 cleft surgery.

Since its founding, Mission Smile has performed over 46500+ free cleft operations and over 70000+ medical evaluations throughout India. Last year, Mission Smile provided free surgery to 354, out of a total of over 7,000 patients in West Bengal.

More than 100 patients will be screened at the start of the cleft surgery camp. A highly qualified team of medical professionals from multiple fields, including Plastic Surgery, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Anaesthesiology, Paediatrics, Dentistry, Speech-Language Pathology, and Nursing, will perform the surgeries after the screening.

The surgery takes about two hours to finish.

With this initiative, needy people will be able to overcome this problem and lead a healthy life.
