South East Traffic Guard of Kolkata Police along with Disha Eye Hospitals organised a Free Eye Screening Camp for the drivers of the Public Transport at Gariahat crossing. 

Sambaran Banerjee, Former Cricketer & National Selector, Officer In Charge of the South East Traffic Guard, Asish Kumar Roy, and Debasish Bhattacharya, MD & Chairman, of Disha Eye Hospitals graced the inauguration of the camp.

With the assistance of Disha Eye Hospitals, a free eye screening camp has been organized to support regular drivers who bear the burden of ensuring that commuters’ daily travels are safe and hassle-free.

The volunteer camp was successful in offering genuine retinal screening and sufficient recommendations to a considerable number of drivers of autos, taxis, rickshaws, and motorcycles on its first day of operation. The free eye screening service was also utilized by the street vendors, who received assistance from the on-site personnel.

The next Free Eye Screening Camp is scheduled for March 13, 2024, at Thakurpur. Subsequently, it will take place in Chinar Park and Barrackpore in the coming weeks.
