Aarthi Scans & Labs has launched a month-long nationwide free thyroid and anemia test for all of its branches in India in honor of International Women’s Day, which is celebrated on March 8 every year. Major cities, including Kolkata, Chennai, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Trivandrum, Visakhapatnam, and more, will be covered by the program, which will run from March 1 to March 31, 2026.

Women can get free TSH (thyroid) and iron (anemia) tests as part of the program, Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. There is no need to make an appointment in advance, and all facilities will offer professional advice.

The campaign takes place in the context of Indian women’s increasing awareness of thyroid conditions and anemia. Thyroid diseases impact about 42 million people in India, with women being far more affected than men. According to studies, hypothyroidism affects 1 in 10 people in India, and it is almost twice as common in women as in men. Particularly at risk are women in reproductive age groups and those over 60.

Concerningly, more than 60% of thyroid cases in India go undetected, indicating that the true burden may be significantly higher. Infertility, irregular menstruation, problems during pregnancy, unexplained weight gain, exhaustion, and hair loss are common symptoms of thyroid dysfunction in women.

Anemia is still a major public health concern. Anemia affects over 57% of Indian women between the ages of 15 and 49, according to the National Family Health Survey (NFHS-5, 2019–21). The prevalence rises to 59.1% among teenage girls and 52.2% among pregnant women. These numbers highlight the critical necessity for early detection and routine screening.

The project, which is being held at NABL-accredited Aarthi Scans & Labs and is supported by more than 38 years of reliable diagnostic service, aims to enable women to proactively monitor and treat silent health issues that frequently go unreported until complications occur.

To take advantage of the free tests and start down the path to better health knowledge and preventive treatment, women are urged to visit their local Aarthi Scans & Labs location during campaign hours.
