In a strategic partnership with Aralias Agency LLP, VertEV, a pan-Indian electric mobility firm that specializes in electric two-wheelers and three-wheelers, began operations in Kolkata.

The launch was a significant turning point in VertEV’s national expansion and reaffirmed the company’s commitment to providing accessible, cheap, and clean transportation solutions throughout India’s main cities. Kolkata’s dense population and quickly expanding last-mile delivery ecology made it a crucial market.

With a concentration on electric two-wheelers and L5-category electric three-wheelers, VertEV’s activities in Kolkata served fleet operators, small enterprises, individual riders, and last-mile delivery partners. In order to lower high upfront costs and do away with long-term financial obligations, the company implemented flexible leasing and partner-led deployment models.

Electric two-wheelers were available to users under its B2C rental model for Rs 210 per day, with a minimum seven-day rental fee of Rs 1,470 per week. Every transaction was carried out digitally via the business’s mobile app, guaranteeing a completely cashless procedure. Additionally, riders had the choice to continue renting the same car.

With effective use, each vehicle’s minimum range of 80 km might be increased to 90–95 km. Riders have access to public charging infrastructure across Kolkata, including commercial and hospitality establishments, to ensure continuous operations.

VertEV marketed its platform as an effort to create jobs in the gig economy, going beyond car rentals. With no down payment, EMI burden, or long-term commitment, riders connected to delivery services like Swiggy, Zomato, BigBasket, Blinkit, and Zepto were able to make between Rs 900 and Rs 1,200 each day. Riders were still free to return cars whenever they wanted.

As part of the rental package, VertEV offered vehicle insurance, roadside assistance, maintenance, and servicing at no extra cost. Following required KYC verification, which included Aadhaar, PAN, driver’s license, and police verification, all riders were onboarded.

The company used a business-to-business (B2B) partner model for electric three-wheelers, deploying vehicles with attached drivers under structured revenue-sharing agreements via logistics platforms like Porter.

Director of VertEV Ravi Shekhar commented on the launch, saying that the collaboration with Aralias Agency LLP provides significant local operational competence, allowing for scalable and dependable electric mobility services in Kolkata.

According to Shradhay Kasera, a partner at Aralias Agency LLP, the partnership was in line with their goal of advancing environmentally friendly transportation while generating long-term benefits for local companies and delivery partners.

While continuing its incremental development throughout important business areas across the country, VertEV’s Kolkata launch helped reduce urban emissions, boost the gig economy, and advance India’s 2030 zero-emission transportation targets.
