The mahurat ceremony for the upcoming film, “Pokkhirajer Dim,” which Jio Studios and SVF Entertainment worked on together took place recently. Beginning in mid-September, “Pokkhirajer Dim,” a movie that is much awaited, will go into production. Jyoti Deshpande, Shrikant Mohta, and Mahendra Soni are producing the film under the banner of SVF Entertainment.

Soukarya Ghosal will expertly handle the direction of “Pokkhirajer Dim”. Those who are familiar with the character Ghoton from “Rainbow Jelly” may enjoy this film’s exploration of his enchanted realm. Ghoton, who was once enthralled by the allure of culinary aspirations, is about to set out on yet another enthralling voyage of self-discovery.

The role of Ghoton and Poppins will be reprised by Mahabrata Basu and Anumegha Banerjee. Anirban Bhattacharya and Shyamal Chakraborty will also be a part of the cast.

The story sends the reader to a remote community, where the temple that once held divine mysteries in its weathered stone now stands abandoned in the middle of a forest.

The outstanding but tenacious student Ghoton faces obstacles at Akashgunj High School. His run-in with his eccentric maths instructor Batabyal and his companion Poppins leads to a series of events involving a mind-bending stone (Pokkhirajer Dim) from the temple. 

Director Soukarya Ghosal said, “We wanted to capture the essence of Bengal’s rich rural tapestry while also telling a fascinating story. The magical atmosphere combined with the dynamics of our lovable characters results in a strange and wonderful encounter. The trio unintentionally summons evil forces when they use the stone’s special abilities to release emotions. They must work together to safeguard this artifact, emulating the bravery of earlier keepers. Young people’s aspirations, academic ambitions, historical mysteries, and otherworldly elements are all expertly woven together in Akashgunj to create an exciting tale of bravery and mystery”.

 The film is slated for release in 2024.
