Godrej Planted 3000 Trees Under Mission Prithvi
The tree planting program launched by the Godrej and Boyce Mfg Co Ltd. Kolkata branch at the beginning of June as part of the ongoing endeavor to *GO GREEN* sustainable environment did in fact make a small but meaningful contribution to this worthy cause.
In order to make the celebration more auspicious, Godrej launched its pan-Indian “Mission Prithvi” program, promising to plant up to 3000 trees outside G&B establishments. Godrej also celebrated its 126th anniversary. Additionally, this was a step and an effort toward CSR. Godrej has a reputation for obeying the law, and the business has already engaged in a number of CSR efforts, of which this one stands out significantly. A whopping 30 or so G&B outlets across Pan India are involved in this on a large scale.
The trees planted would help eliminate 49 tons of carbon emissions annually.
The Plantation at Kolkata Order Fulfilment Center ( KOFC)* was led by the Branch Commercial Manager Mr. Irfan Wadood, Team Leads – Mr. Sumit Kandulna and Mr Mandeep Banerjee in association with Jangalpur Ma Sarada Seba Prothisthan and Baganipara Primary School. It was also graced by Mrs. Ranjana Parui the Gram Panchayat Pradhan.
130 trees were planted in the Howrah area. In Phase 02, the plantation took place in the area alongside Saltlake Waterside bheri ( Fish Cultivation area ) maintained by the owner Mr. Sakil, where 70 plants were planted.
The Kolkata Branch in total planted as many as 200 trees.
The plants that were planted were Mangoes, Amla, Ashoke, Neem, and other variants.
Branch employees Soumen Sinha, Soumick Mukherjee, Shouvik Das, and Debabrata Pandit, Somnath Das, Team Lead Mr. Ali Imam also played important roles in the activity.
A great initiative indeed!!
