When the legendary Eken trio—Somak Ghosh, Suhotra Mukhopadhyay, and Anirban Chakrabarti—made a special appearance at the Fortune Poila Parbon celebrations this Poila Boishakh, the joyous atmosphere at Boimela Prangan reached even greater heights. The event served as the Grand Poster Launch for The Eken–Benaras e Bibhishika, their eagerly anticipated upcoming theatrical release.

An enthusiastic audience, who had flocked in droves to see their favourite detective and his friends, gave the trio a hearty welcome. As the actors revealed the movie’s official poster, giving viewers a preview of the upcoming exciting chapter in the Eken Babu story, the excitement was evident.

Following the launch, the three of them spent some time exploring the colourful mela, from browsing the stalls to savouring delectable treats at the food kiosks. It was a touching experience because of their open communication with the audience. The opportunity to meet the cast in person, snap selfies, and have light-hearted conversations with them delighted fans of all ages. The crowd’s unbridled passion and love transformed the occasion into a celebration of storytelling, nostalgia, and cherished characters in addition to Noboborsho. The actors reminisced about the time they spent filming in Benaras, the movie’s setting, during the event.

“Benaras is more than just a location in this film – it’s a character in itself. Stories reverberated in every alley and ghat. Shooting there was an exciting and humbling experience,” said Anirban Chakrabarti.

Similar opinions were expressed by Suhotra Mukhopadhyay and Somak Ghosh, who reprised their parts as Bapi and Pramatha.

“It was a memorable experience,” said Suhotra.

“Every area of Benaras offered us something special to incorporate into our characters, both emotionally and visually,” said Somak.

Set against the rich cultural tapestry of Benaras, The Eken: Benaras e Bibhishika, directed by Joydeep Mukherjee, is positioned to be an engrossing detective story full of mystery, humour, and a hint of spiritual intrigue.

On May 16, 2025, the movie will release in theatres.
