An amazing Puja Carnival was organized at IEM Public School.

The Puja Carnival was inaugurated by Dr. John Bagul, Principal-Director, IEM Public School, Mr. Souptick Ghosh, owner and branch head of Alphabetz Play School and Daycare, Mrs. Priyanka Ghosh, Owner and Principal of Hello Kidz Stepping Stones, and Brinda Sarkar, journalist with The Telegraph.

It was a day-long event that focused on fun, community spirit, and creativity.

Some of the highlights from the carnival were games and fun activities, food stalls and refreshments, a fashion show (6 to 18 years), and a dance competition (6 to 18 years).

There was a parent competition as well. They could take part in blowing the conch shell.

Aditi Talapatra, Headmistress, said, “This is an annual event. It is not only a carnival but also a great time to spend with family and friends. Our students look forward to this event. This is the fifth year of the event, and we plan to continue this in the future.

The stall owners are from different NGOs, home-based bakery owners, home chefs, and many more.

Foods, saris, blouses, toys, and many more such stalls were part of this carnival.

“This is the largest festival in the world, and with this carnival, we plan to showcase the spirit of Pujo among the teachers, students, and their families. There are plenty of stalls selling a wide variety of items. We are supporting local NGOs, helping people and craftsmen in the Sunderbans. We do not want to do something hollow. There is a story behind it. The clothes are all handcrafted by local artisans. We are giving a platform to the local artisans. This will help them to sell their products to the customers,” said Dr. John Bagul.

The Puja Carnival saw a good turnout of people of all ages.
