A blood donation initiative was organized on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.

It was organised by Kalighat Sports Lovers Association at Netaji Indoor Stadium.

Due to the amazing work of social worker Babun Banerjee, more than 2000 people donated blood at the event.

Some of the eminent guests who graced the event were Subrata Bakshi, Joyprakash Majumdar, Sanjay Bakshi, Ajit Bandopadhyay, Rahim Nabir, and others.

This blood donation initiative started in 1998 with only 504 blood donors. Now this has become a grand initiative. People donate blood irrespective of their caste, creed, or religion.

Blood donors from Kolkata and other parts of Bengal came to the event.

Even army personnel came and donated blood.

The blood collected from this blood donation initiative is sent to the people who need blood. Blood is one element that cannot be produced artificially. It needs to be donated by a human being. Hence, through this initiative of Babun Banerjee, many people who need blood in emergencies are catered to.

This noble initiative was praised by one and all.
