The WB Commission for Women was inaugurated in the presence of MIC Shashi Panja, Principal Secy Sanghamitra Ghosh, Leena Gangopadhyay (Chairperson, WBCW), Ananya Chakraborty(WBCPCR Advisor) and other eminent guests.

Visitors at the 47^th International Kolkata Book Fair can visit the stall near gate 1. The stall number is 193.

At the event, Leena Gangopadhyay said “Every state has problems. Even in Bengal, we have many problems. But the WB Commission for Women has been working relentlessly to solve these issues. Women must be made aware of their rights. Only then can they protest against the crimes committed against them. If you have any such problem, visit the stall and we will guide you instantly”.

A panel discussion took place on the inauguration day that was graced by Sujit Pyne, Sohini Sengupta, Rajanya Mitra, Tannishtha Roy, Neha, Jayanta Narayan Chattopadhyay, and Pew Roy. The panel discussion was on the topic- Bartaman prajanmo baibahik daitto nite agrohi noi.

Different activities have been planned daily at this stall. Eminent personalities will visit the stall and support the cause.
